About the Bistro
Located on the corner of Jefferson and Winnebago in the South Side of St. Louis City, this corner bar has all the excitement you’ve been searching for. From their ever popular wings to their delicious chicken ceasar wraps, to their homemade soups, everything is great at this place.
Our unique building was built in 1891 as the Missouri School of Architecture. Somewhere in the late 1903's early 1904's it was converted into a saloon, restaurant, and hotel to capitalize on the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The original oak bar is still in place. It has had many names and looks over the years until November of 2007 when it became Jefferson Avenue Bistro.
The Jefferson Avenue Bistro, previously known as Baby K’s, was renovated and is completely under new management. “The Bistro”, as many of the locals call it, has the highest quality service, and a laid back atmosphere that is sure to set the mood, whether it’s a first date or a simple night on the town.
Owned and operated by long time South City resident and business owner Rich Schlattweiler (also owns Rich’s Automotive), Jefferson Avenue Bistro continues to be a huge part of the continuing resurgence of the wonderful, historic neighborhood of Dutchtown and Gravois Park in St. Louis, MO.
